What exactly is this?
Just because I love Starbucks, Lularoe Leggings, Michael Kors bags, taking selfies, love shopping, and drive a nice car I’m automatically labeled as a typical white girl? Is that supposed to be an insult or a compliment? Yes, I’m a girl and yes I’m white. Duh.
But why is this a color thing? I know many people of many colors, shapes, sizes, genders that enjoy the same exact things as I do.
I love Starbucks because IT’S REALLY GOOD COFFEE! Sure, I make it at home as well but there is just something about walking into my neighborhood Starbucks, smelling the aroma in the air, absorbing the atmosphere, and getting my $5 coffee and yes I have a Gold membership and I’d like to keep it thank you so yes my weekly Starbucks is a must in my life.
I love La LaRue leggings because WHO WOULDN’T?! I was never a leggings person before but after trying them I’m totally addicted. They are so unbelieveably comfortable and I can wear them anywhere! Yes, leggings are pants!
I do enjoy my purses. Do I spend too much money on them? Maybe. And you know usually I don’t even buy them. They are typically Christmas or Birthday gifts. Instead of a bunch of little things for my birthday or Christmas I’ll have my husband get me a new purse instead. Or I’ll find these killer sales on the rare purses I really want. They may be out of style but I don’t care. I like what I like.
I take selfies because damn it I feel good about myself! I think more women should take selfies of themselves. I see a woman posting a selfie I don’t think, “Gah, she’s so full of herself.” I actually think, “Rock on! You feel like you are beautiful today and you totally are! Post that selfie girl!” Spread the love people!
And yes, I like shopping but it’s my cardio. Haha, just kidding. I mostly window shop online. My Amazon wish lists could put my ‘to do’ lists to shame. And don’t even get me started on my ‘to be read’ list on my Kindle.
So what’s wrong with any of this? I have a wonderful husband who takes care of me, I work a full time job to take care of my kids and indulge in a few treats every now and then, I have a Bachelors degree in Business, and I work hard on a daily basis. I choose to enjoy life. Nothing wrong with that.
So I’m going to kick back on my couch, enjoy my $5 coffee from Starbucks, in my leggings, shop on my galaxy s7, while binge watching the latest season of Fuller House and if that makes me a ‘typical white girl’ then so be it. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
